LEADERS OF TOMOROW
Academic Probation programme
This programme is aimed at getting our academically weak students or pupils to work at an acceptable pace, through a close supervision of their studies, monitoring their study and teaching them study skills. A student or pupil is placed on probation when he/she scores below 45% in any of our continuous assessment or overall average in examination. This program is also recommended for students or pupils who have been absent from regular classes. Academic probation students or pupils do not take part in the following social activities: debate, quiz, music, clubbing, sports and drama. Students or pupils on academic probation will spend those social programmes period in the Library under close supervision that ensures progress in those subjects that he/she performed poorly. A counsellor and class teachers closely supervise students or pupils on probation and give a report to the Vice Principal or Headmaster on the progress of the students or pupils. In the secondary school, subject teachers may equally be asked to write a report on a student on probation. The students or pupils will go off probation when there is an improvement in grades and an increase in earnest academic purpose is noted. St. Matthews Education hub do not want students or pupils to be placed on probation and therefore calls for other students and pupils to assist those on academic probation to come off as soon as possible. Academic improvement is our aim for the whole students and pupils, and we pray that this negative motivation will help those on probation.
